The shape for this vase is series 1, prod. number 7772 from 1899.

It's hard for us o tell which one of the decoraions it belongs too (Ph.G. 7773 or Ph.G. 29) as they're really too simmilar... On kralik-glass.com there are a lot of examples of both models but... hard to tell.

I must take a new picture of the vase seen from the top as Carlos tells me the decorations makes the perfect shape of a five petal flower...

Anyone has any idea about which Genre it belongs to?

Austro : I was told there has been a long stanging debate about Loetz PG 29 / 7773 as to which is which. Personally I can't tell the difference. And if you do Past Auctions research you find the same piece identified as 29 or 7773 !

Yes, I just posted a Loetz the other day that I thought was PG 29 and was told it is PG 7773. If you see my post I was informed that PG 7773 has a single row of "windows" or opening in the design, where PG 29 has two or more rows. So if I use that and look at your piece I see NO windows! So that didn't help! I would say 7773 from my limited knowledge, but someone else will know better.

This is Loetz Gre 7801, not Gre 29 nor Gre 7773

      Thanks LortzBuddies, dasullywon and kairomalte.

Well, the thing gets more complicated... I can see some relation of our vase to the Gre 7801 (specially in the aspect of the decoration being more regular and less chaotic than in the other genres) but, at least from what I see on the pictures at http://www.loetz.com/decorsgre7801.htm arent's those decorations more feather-like? Plus they leave "windows" in between... unlike ours.

I hope there are no more Gre. options LOL

When I was informed that my JIP snake vase was PG 7773 I commented "but there are a lot of similar (PG) decors, no?" This is exactly what I meant? The three look so similar that it is VERY difficult to tell them apart. But LoetzDance hasn't chimed in yet, so I'm sure this discussion is far from over. So, now that I look at all three I'd say this is 7801 OR 7773; and probably 7801 because this vase has no "windows" like 7773 (one row) or 29 (two or more rows) per LoetzDance. That's my two cents.

Then again 7801 is pointier (feathered) at the top as you say. Hum!!!!

haha, dasullywon! I love your "Hum!!!!" When I found out about 7801 I thought "Oooo my, this is going to be endless" :) I hope we all can learn something new :)
