Some time ago, in one of my trips to northern Chile in an abandoned nitrate industry for over 70 years, while taking pictures I found this train built with jars, which were used to shape the locomotive and cars. At a time when nitrate workers earning just enough to survive, a father had devoted some time to build this simple toy for your child.
How much you will have enjoyed this child?

That is a wonderful toy, Yuko! I'm old enough that I can remember playing with very simple toys made of wood, especially when I was quite small. So many children today would have no idea what to do with it because there is no place for batteries, no flashing lights, and no remote control. Simple items such as this, made with love during a time of want were priceless. I have no doubt that this was cherished by the child whose father made it. Thanks for sharing this moving and thought provoking item!
