Dug this up in my backyard in St. Cloud, Florida. I would appreciate any information on this article. Seems like a very old piece of wood carved.

OMG!!!! Are you from Fla. ??? I am and this is an Indian piece if you can track down - Seminoles, etc. That belongs in a museum! I tromped around StCloud/Kis. in 1980's before Disney took over. it is so sad to see what has happended to all of that land. OMG....when did you dig this up? please respond.
What is the marking on the back?
My kids dug this up a couple months ago. I am a lifelong resident of Florida, grew up in Orlando. I moved to Saint Cloud four years ago. I do not know what the marking on the back is either. If anyone knows where I can take this to have a more knowledgeable person look at it, please let me know. Thanks, you two made my week. Merry Christmas!
I would look up some Seminole elders or a community center for Seminoles, I'm sure everyone there could tell you more about it haha. I can tell you if it was dug out of the ground, it has some value, and some age. Awesome find.

Mr. Joe, Please give dimensions on your find! Can't really tell how big it is? I am so happy to realize your treasure really must be quite a find. Indians did live on east coast of fla. - near cape can. & orlando apo. Heard of many of finds in that area & north to Jax. The indians lived near lakes, rivers, water, etc to provide for their families. Merry Christmast to you too. I now reside in Dunedin, Clearwater area and have Dino. bones recovered from my property. FL is so full of neat treausres. I would be digging up some more dirt if i were ur kids. lol, katy
It is about 4 1/2 inches long and 3 1/2 inches wide. Thanks Katy and Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Joe, by the way, the Hard Rock Casino in Tampa is owned & operated by the Seminoles. Plus look at the FSU mascot....thanks, you to
Have you tried the History Dept at UCF ?
