VINTAGE CROUSE HINDS TRAFFIC SIGNAL, READS AGA 1217 INSIDE. CAME OFF OF THE MID HUDSON BRIDGE IN UPSTATE N.Y. I BELIEVE IT WAS ORIGINALLY HUNG THERE DURING THE 30S 40S. IF ANY ONE HAS ANY MORE INFO ON THE THIS LIGHT I WOULD APPRECIATE IT. THANKS.
That's awesome!
Signguy, that is an AGA, American Gas Accumulator traffic signal beacon. Unfortunately it is not so great shape missing doors, reflector and socket assemblies. What are you looking to do with it?
Yep, not Crouse-Hinds but a later style AGA or possibly an early Signal Service Corporation (SSC) beacon as SSC bought out AGA and still used AGA castings. A brass tag might still be attached that gives the model, serial number and whether the signal is actually AGA, SSC or even Marbelite (that bought out SSC and still used the same castings for a short while.) Definitely collectible and restorable.
Note: I realize this comment is stale, but these are collectible pieces for anyone else who might come across one.
