I thought I would start to share some of my collection. This is an english fusee made by D. Edmonds. It is in good running condition and dates to late 1813/early 1814. The dial is my favorite part of this watch, it is absolutely beautiful. A true functional work of art. It amazes me that these fusees do not command more money than they do in our day in age.
D. Edmonds was registered in liverpool starting in 1784, while offical records only show he made watches until 1810, there are numerous examples in existance today outside of this time period.
The case is pair sterling and was hallmarked in Birmingham in 1813.
Thanks for the love fuel
Fusee style movements are some of the ones I admire most.
Fishwhacker,
Thanks for sharing this great item. I know very little about fusee watches even though I have acquired a couple. I'm glad you are getting involved in the sharing portion of this CW site.
