I have a square cast iron skillet, it measures 9 1/2"
across and is 1 1/2" deep. I am wanting to identify
The maker. On the bottom is stamped,
"SQUARE SKILLLT" (there are 3 L's and no E,
Below that is "MADE IN USA". With a number 6
Below that. Wondering who the maker was and
If the misspelling of skillet means anything?
Thanks for any info.
That should have been a "C" and not a "6" on the bottom of the skillet.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
It is definitely a C. There is also a C on the under side of the handle, close to Where the handle meets the skillet. Thks
Do have any knowledge of websites/books that has markings for different makers.
I was puzzled by the spelling of skillet on this one. I have several different shapes and sizes of cast iron skillets/pots that I am gonna be selling and I think some may be of value. I have a 20" GRISWOLD, some have sold on ebay for over 800.00, what makes those so valuable, any idea???
Thank you so much for your comments!
