Here's another whimsical image from my library. I don't own this particular picture and cannot recall where I found it to give proper citation. But let's face it, this picture demands lots of commentary - in other words, let loose with those captions!
The camera is a c.1904 8" x 10" Century No.7 studio view sitting atop a Semi-Centennial No.1 stand. This is the standard of turn-of-the-century studio cameras; a real work horse. My collection includes a fine example of this same set up. It's a joy to use.
And for those who are wondering, this is not a self-portrait.
"You have to put clothing ON for me to take this Picture" !!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks, bratjdd! The camera came from a portrait studio in Oconto, WI. in the early 1980s. The photographer (the original owner) had died and I assisted sorting through all the equipment so that the family could sell for good money. For my efforts, the camera ended up being a birthday present! There were a lot of negs with the camera. I made prints and returned everything to the family. In retrospect, I should have made copies because there was a lot of fascinating stuff.
YES, PERFECT... hold that pose while I load the camera!
Finally - my pizza has arrived -- hold still...
I keep telling you! Watch the ****** birdie!!

Hi filmnet ... it's always nice to meet others who shot large format film ... I've shot formats up to 11x14. My father owned a Chicago based furniture manufacturing company (1950s - 70s), and pictures of the furniture were shot by a studio using Deardorff 11x14 'dog-house' cameras. If you want to learn more about Deardoff, I suggest visiting Ken Hough's website: http://deardorffcameras.0catch.com ... he is a former employee who also restores their cameras.
