This 1907 Calhoun County Michigan Telephone Book (including Battle Creek Michigan) is interesting because it has some classic early telco propaganda (e.g. 'telephone etiquette'), but mostly because it contains the direct line home and office numbers of W.K. Kellogg himself (of the B.C. Toasted Corn Flake Company) - see magnified area of page 43.
If you had called this number in 1907 the man himself would likely have answered. And if you had said, "I'm telling you I have this great business idea, you've gotta listen - just put more sugar on," he probably would have hung up on you.
K-E double L, O, double G, Kelloggs Best to You !
I like the older directories with the bell logo of Local & Long Distance
