Found this great wine rack last week. I believe it is Swedish made out of birch and rosewood. I had to feed her oil (lemon) a couple of times before she revived. Its funny, while researching her, it seems that these interesting wine racks have become a hot commodity. (hipsters) The prices I have seen on this have varied wildly.
Try googling Mid Century Modern wine racks, images. Its really fun.
If I filled this with wine do you think I would have more hits? : ))
This is a beauty!!! : )
As for "more hits", I suspect that something might be wrong with Collectors Weekly - I can't post my Fenton carnival glass. It keeps hanging up and I have to shut it down. I have to think that as soon as the dinner hour is past, and when CW is working well, this will be better appreciated for the grand piece it is. : )
My bottle of vodka, your wine rack... this is dangerously becoming Alcoholic Collectors Weekly!!! :)
Well, seriously, I love it! Well, one has to be very careful about where one keeps his/her wine... appaently kitchen is a forbidden place for it! But in any case it will be very useful for short-term storage.
Austro, you just posted more booze!
Thanks Czechman!
Well, they were such nice items!!! Maybe i should look for and post here my old beer can collection!!! I was collecting them since age 14 to 20 i guess... not that I got a lot, but there were some nice ones :) Plus there are the kitsch bottles i keep :)
You must stop,I am laughing too hard. I could post the empty wine bottles from last night?
I will be posting a bunch later this (my) morning. Just waiting for the sun to come up.
My 6 year old is a very very early riser. Painfully early.
had i been born a dog I wouldn't go out at 5am to do any kind of business :P
LOVE THIS! I've been on the hunt for a unique mid-century wine rack for about a year and absolutely cannot find one...Maybe wine just wasn't a big thing is west Texas in the 1950s and 60s... lol
@sodapropocker: Well, it will come out some day. After reading your message I've been doing a search on Spanish wine racks from the time... couldn't find much stuff and, believe me, wine was huge at the time :)
Soda pop, thanks! It is pretty great. Will probably go in the vintage flea market pile though. My house is bursting with vintage goodness, which the hubby is a little over. How is your store coming along? I also pick furniture for Century Chicago.
It's sooooo fun.
What a beautiful wine rack!
Beautiful woodgrain:)
