I inherited my great grandfathers coin collection and most of them are German and French coins I could identify. This one has me baffled. It has NO DATE ( the rest of my coins are ww1 or before) but it says: GUT FUR 10 PFENNIG (so it appears to be a token right?) on the reverse it says: CONSUM-VEREIN with COCHEM in the middle and a star at the bottom. Can someone help me identify this coin please?
This is a token "good for 10 pfennig at the Cochem (city) co-op store. Co-operatives were very popular in Germany around the turn of the last century.
Thank you! I knew it was a token "good for" 10 pfennig but I couldn't figure out where.
