Yesterday I rode with a friend on a pick to Detroit, Michigan. On the way there we stopped at a few antiques stores but nothing turned up. We drove by this one store on the interstate and missed the exit and turned around and went back and there it was on the top shelf in this booth. I'm glad he wanted to turn around and go back. This was in LaSalle, Michigan. I had the clerk call the person whose booth it was and made by best deal over the phone and brought it home to put in my collection. This is an original milk glass globe with almost all the red paint still on it with the collar. This would set on the top of a gas pump and light up.

I have passed by this globe countless times at that antique mall often considering making an offer. I have somewhat limited space and it is pretty big, so I never did. How ironic to see you got it! A real nice piece! Congrats!

Thanks Michael! It has been in the store for more than a year. that antique store in 15-20 minutes from my house. I know it is great piece, but I worried I would somehow break it since the bulk of my collection is in my basement which doubles as a bar for my family and friends! I always guessed people either didn't know what it was, or didn't look up! I knew I would be sad when it sold because I would not see it anymore, but you cured that for me!

Hi, saw your red crown globe. my father has one of these and also a black one. they used to own a car dealership that was also a Standard Oil station. I am having a lot of trouble trying to figure out how much they are worth. they also have the pumps these go on, or a couple old pumps, that I assume the crowns go with. any help would be appreciated.

There's enough information on the Internet I would think to satisfy your question. It's all you have to do is go to eBay and do a completed search and you should get a price of approximately what the globe is worth.
