The first Loetz vase of this decor that I ever saw appeared in an auction catalog in 1992. After seven years of waiting, believe it or not, four of them showed up on eBAY within a period of three months. I was high bidder on three of them and underbidder on the fourth. A couple of years later I got my fourth one, again off eBAY. The tall one at 9-1/4" has four hearts, the others each have three. To be a collector of fine glass, one is forced to be patient....yes ? 1(2000) 2(2000) 3(2002) 4(1999)
OK Tony...no slumming. We go UPtown !
I "heart" these vases! Lovely examples and so rare. I would love to own even just one of these! BTW, would you be willing to let us use photos of your vases on the new Loetz.com website? My contact information is located under my bio. Let me know. Thanks, Deb
James, I have a few grandchildren I will trade for just one of these. Folks, these are as good as Loetz gets!...I'd love to get them in front of my camera.
I tried hitting the "love it" button 12 times!
What absolute beauties!!
I guess I stated with Ebay too late ( 1998 ) !
I was thinking the same thing, Frank. I started about when you did, and we must have missed a bunch of great glass if THIS is any indication of what used to be. I want one of these! Unbelievable!
I don't know how you missed these. The vase on the far right I won on 12/27/99, the tall vase on 1/30/00, and the vase next to the tall piece on 3/29/00. Perhaps you took a long Christmas vacation that year. The vase with the convoluted rim I got on 7/10/02. And believe me, I do know how fortunate I am.
I do believe you have met your limit! Save the others out there for the rest of us!
Belleverre, if you have any Pfauenauge decor vases, I would love to see them. And these are just incredible!
Hello dlfd911- No, unfortunately, I do not have a vase with the Pfauenaugen decor. I seriously considered bidding on the fantastic looking piece recently offered in Bonham's, but it had a "tiny unobtrusive abrasion." Without my being able to vew it in person, I elected to pass. And thanks for your kind words.
The Pfauenaugen brought $10,625 !!!!!
That's huge. I didn't see the auction, do you have a link? I tried searching their results, but can't find any Loetz there either.
Never mind, I just found it. I was looking for a green one, didn't expect that color.
What a collection.... Your patience definitely paid off... Congrats
The Pfauenauge at Bonhams that went for $10K was actually a Tiffany piece.
