Hello, I posted Mom's history before, I never knew it but I read on internet that there was a fire in Iceland and she saved some patients, then went to London and helped wounded when it was bombed, then to New York! (If you can make it there you can make it anywhere)! F S Where she toured with Kate Smith selling War Bonds, Then she Christened the Worlds largest Hosp. ship and was in charge of the 40 nurses, this is her camera, and I believe she took the photo of W. Chur. and FDR Jr. She never talked much about the war, I had a rough time in Vietnam and was anti war, my father was a Colonel, retired. Both Republicans! And me a democrat!! Thanks for looking! Don

You are welcome, she was tough! She was nurse in Nebraska and on days off picked asparagus on the farm and sold it locally!

A decent camera; looks to be a Kodak Vigilant Junior Six-20. Introduced April 1940 and discontinued January 1949. Used 620 roll film to shoot 2-1/4" x 3-1/4" pictures. It sold for $8.50 in 1940 and then jumped to $9.25 in 1941. Otherwise, an amazing mom.

Thanks 1940 is just right for WW-2. I am still amazed by the beauty of your wood cameras! If I ever see one cheap, I will grab it and send photo to you! If you like it, it is yours! your friend Don

She was a good mom, she even ironed T-shirts! She canned food, and baked a lot. She was always angry some at me because I would spend years traveling the world. Thanks AmberRose, I posted her before, with more photos about 7 months ago, just her camera now. I hear Chicago women are special!? True?
