Help! This small little piece of pottery is driving me nuts! I've looked up art Deco pottery frog, modernist pottery, cubist pottery, skyscraper pottery, drip glaze bud vase, majolica bud vase, tulip vase, and I just can't seem to find anything on it. I could sure use your help.
WOW!!! Very Cool!!!! LOVE IT!!!
Thank you so much moonstone and vetraio:)
stunning sara!!!
Hi,
this looks like a multi bud vase to me. I can't see what the marks are or tell how large the piece is but that is my guess. Very nice!
Yup tried multi bud vase too:) its only a little over 5 inches tall, and I can almost but just barely figure out the mark.
When I have trouble reading a mark sometimes making a pencil rubbing on a piece of white paper gives you some clues.
Thanks Cindy I'll try it:)
Is there a way of safely removing the glaze over the mark?
Thank you everyone for the love:)
Hi Sarahoff. The bad thing about these pieces is that you know you have seen them before:))))
Reminds me of tile pieces?????
Thanks every one for your help and love, and nldionne the pottery tile comment gave me a new area to search, thank you:)
your very welcome darling sara:)
nldionne thanks again for the tile comment:)
This sort of thing is quite similar to early-to-mid 20s Austrian ceramics. They had a tendency during that era to have cubic forms and glazes that ran off the edges revealing the pottery underneath.
Hope you find it! Driving me crazy too:) maybe Eye will see it, he is excellent with this kind of stuff. He calls my gems "obscure" :))))
Thank you all for the love and thank you cindyjune, cogito, and nldionne for your help.
I have seen this model before..... will try to remember where
It might be german i think
