Can anybody tell me something about this hammer and the mark? much obliged - Tools and Hardware

ive added a photo of the same mark on a different piece, this one obviously says Germany, the one on the hammer says JHP,
indeed it is! thanks, also i was wonderring about the mark, ive seen it on more objects, maybe it is a universal blacksmith mark?
