Mystery solved. Its missing front clad layer.
I posted a pic with a side view..its all copper except very then layer on back.
Yes, I know what materials are involved in the making of quarters. But.. this quarter has no nickel on the front and very thin on back of coin. It seems the nickel is missing on front. Is it possible...
Thank you for your thoughts. I was told it is most likely damaged by fire. It's fascinating and a good conversation piece. My penny from the future.
