Yeah! The brass part holding the wick was in fact made in two parts and I finally got it to come apart! Thank you! (Still can't figure out why it was in a massive collection of antique oil lamps......
Alcohol lamp? Best guess so far, IMHO. Still searching. Decanter? With a wick? Still researching.
