Mystery solved! These are apparently part of the bar scale system that was in an old wooden grain elevator that had been on the property. We also found the selector wheel and a couple of 60,000 lb cap...

I should have taken a close-up of the stamping, will do that tomorrow. As mounted on the platform/plank, they were sitting as I photographed them, but about 5' apart.
