In 1898 Alexander Ritchie and Euphemia Thompson married after meeting while studying at the famous Glasgow School of Art. He was a 42yo retired marine engineer and she was 36yo and a skilled artist. The couple then went to live for the rest of their lives on the remote Scottish Isle of Iona, where Alex had strong family connections. There they produced fabulous Celtic Revival Arts & Crafts items including gorgeous silver jewellery and household items, and hand beaten copper, brass and carved wooden pieces.
