I think old CW members know that I don't try to poste the most as some kind of status symbol. Rather stick with quality! Have these inset mounted into my counter/desk under glass. They come from Suffolk, UK & dates are noted. Some I had to use educated guess-work on, so if I've made any mistakes, please point them out to me. Not worth much but as a conversation piece, can't be beaten easily. Had these for yrs. but just now posting outside of the "week-end rush". Hope you enjoy.
The terra cotta seal is probably the rarest as they can't be picked-up with metal detectors.
They were cleaned only with dish soap & a toothbrush. If there is true interest, I can flip them over & poste the obverse sides as they really tell more of the coins. Once again, I see absolutely no category to place these in!

Valentino, are you really ready for this? I can buy cigarettes real cheap on the dutch side of St. Maarten & mail them to the UK & Continent from the French side (EU) territory. Lots of people do it as it's legal. When our contacts receive & sell over there, it is called smuggling or tax evasion. Get the drift? Well, one of my contacts who had been here several times, bought a metal detector & these coins from Suffolk came with it. He brought them & gave them to me. They aren't worth enough to counterfeit! Couple of bucks each! Gave them to a friend who comes for the Heineken regatta & sells on Ebay but after I saw what Roman coins sold for after metal detectors, told him not to sell & bring them back. He did and they are a good conversation piece back in my display place. Worth a lot more this way. No doubt in my mind that they are real.

Thanks Sean. Not bad for something that was just given to me. Well, there was that 2 wks he and his 8 1/2 mo. pregnant daughter plus her 6 yr. old son house-sat for me while I was in Saba. Daughter & kid only did a couple hundred $'s damage while I was gone (only 2 Mother Earth glasses survived) & after the clean-up crew left, things were back to normal. The pregnant daughter had to pee every 15 mins. so my water bill doubled! Now that I think about it, those coins cost me quite a bit! But what's money between friends and I know to say NO if they want to visit again. Life is truly a learning experience!

      Nicely displayed... quality not quantity....

You have been around quite a while & hope your remark isn't sarcastic. CW just isn't what it was. More like shit people couldn't sell on the last day of their yard sale. Then we have the egotists who think that posting the most is some kind of status. Used to be about half of what was posted was worth looking at & rating. Now, it's a good day if it's 10%. Why waste time looking at things you can buy at Kmart or Zales(if those still exist up there). I've been thinking about dropping out for months now but hate to lose contact with good people like you. I love you serious guys, but have come to hate the shit-peddlers & egotists. Just not what it was!

No sarcasm , just plain truth.. I agree with what your saying... several of the "OLD HEADS" have left already. Miss seeing these type of postings too. I keep plugging along... hopefully it will be help to a younger collector just starting out or would like to think so. Hope you stick around... love reading your comments on several posting, now and then. Have a great day

Same kerry. I've got a few more things that I would like to poste, but they aren't Kmart jewelery class, so nobody would pay attention. The whole thing seems a waste of time now. As I've told a few people, "I see you have class. It's lower class. But at least you have class!". I'm impressive enough where I haven't gotten hit yet.

      Rather stick with quality

i agree with that, but is it that simple, not everyone is loaded, i always wonder is this hoarding or instant satisfaction, is it ego , well i don,t know maybe a pars pro feeling of blending in

i always hope i could learn people to love art, the point is it is a thin of stimulating
art and being honest , but sometimes i like the social skills ,

i see people bidding on auctions for thousands of dollars and i almost pray , please don,t do it, you are getting shanghaied or shill bidding, but you can,t change people
