The compote has been mine for twenty years or more and had puzzled me until this week when I saw something similar on an FB group page. It only took a few minutes for someone to suggest EMPOLI.
Solved.
I had never thought of that possibility .... after all it is not green !!!
But that is unfair. In the Fifties the glass at Empoli became colourful. The green that had been the usual fare there since the Renaissance was replaced by striking colours.
Empoli is a town in Tuscany halfway between Firenze and Pisa ..... a trade route since ancient times.
It's tall!
35 cm or 13.7"
Many thanks MIKELV !!!!!
I would not have picked Empoli either, mainly because of the fluting.
It is a beauty - majestic almost with it's long stem and gorgeous bowl.
I live, learn and love!
Me too KAREN.
The optic ribbing is typical of EMPOLI.
You live & learn .... hopefully.
Many thanks CINDB !!!!!!

I've got one exactly the same in a grey coloured glass and have always suspected Empoli, i've not seen one with a label yet.
Many thanks TIGERCHIPS !!!!!
I'd love to see the grey one !!!!!
Okay, i have an old image of it but the quality isn't good, it's sitting in storage at the moment and would probably take me a year to find it again. http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/168797-very-tall-stemmed-vase-bowl
Now that i compare it yours looks a bit shorter at the top.
I have one of these too vetraio. It has more of a top to it forming a goblet/glass shape more than a dish style. It's 18.25" tall, and has a nice scalloped made in Italy label on the foot.
Many thanks COLLECTOMANIAC & MYFAVORITETREASURES !!!!
