    (977 items)

The is made from a hard composition material and was probably commissioned for the 1942 Holiday Season.

I like the joining of the Liberty Bell and Statue of Liberty Torch. It is one of the more unusual Pearl Harbor items that I have seen.

My dad was a Pearl Harbor Survivor and he was a life member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association. The PHSA will be closing it's national headquaters on Dec 31, 2011. Most of there veterans are now in their 90's. I believe this will be the last anniversary being held in Hawaii.

Scottvez, This is one of my favorite RPH items that I have in my collection. My dad was on the USS Tern during the attack on Pearl Harbor, after the bombing had stopped the Tern was assigned to put out fires on the Arizona then moved to the USS West Virginia. The Tern then rescued forty five sailors from burning waters. My dad had been a life guard before he joined the Navy and he dived(dove) into the burning water and helped several sailors back to the Tern.

      Thanks for sharing.

Your father's extraordinary valor at extreme personal risk is something to be proud of.

Was it your personal connection (through your father) to the Pearl Harbor attack that got you into the RPH collecting?

I would say in most cases I got interested in collecting RPH items because of my dad being a survivor. My dad didn't talk about the Pearl Harbor attack until later in life. He witness so many sailors that were killed on that day of infamy and thank his lucky stars he survived Pearl Harbor and the rest of WW2.
