    Hello CW friends!!

Been a while since I've posted one of my hat trunks, so here's my latest addition. This is a gentleman's hat trunk from around the late 1920's to early 1930 period. Made of very high quality leather by the London Harness Company of Boston, MA.

The interior is nicely lined with satin and will hold three hats. It also has a separate compartment for hat brushes, polishing pillow, etc...

This one has it's original key. The key is on the original ribbon that reads London Harness Company. So, that key and ribbon are original to this trunk.

The London Harness Company is 232 years old, still in business and still located in Boston today. They sell handbags, briefcases and travel bags. But, they've also expanded to clothing and accessories as well.

Hope you like it as much as I do.

Thanks for stopping to have a look!!

    Scott

Very fancy. Even nicer than a slide projector case.

How precious is this one, Scott! Love the smart grey hat too :-))

      T-man,
Thanks friend! The leather was really dried out and stained on this one. It took a bit of time to saddle soap it and condition it. I wish the leather was in better condition, but I still love it.

      Thanks Judy,
Yes I was pretty excited to see the the London Harness Company name written on the key ribbon. That was a huge plus.

      Phil,
Thanks very much friend! I spotted this one and, though dried out and dirty, I knew I could recover it.

      fortapache,
It is a fancy one, but I do love your projectors and cases, your Johnny West collection and all of your wonderful items. Thanks very much!

      Kyra,
Thanks very much! I already had the 1930 top hats and thought they just looked fitting in this case from the same period and to show how they'd have been stored inside this case. I only have two grey top hats, and they're in my top 5 favorites. Thanks again so very much!

Great addition jscott! I considered bidding on that one too, but thought of you when I saw it. Glad you got it. The hats look great in it.

      Marvin,
Thanks!! I actually debated on whether to bid on it or not, but decided to go ahead. I think it was still a decent buy.

      Drill,
Thanks friend! Though the trunk was made in Boston, the lock is English made and works quite well. Thanks for the awesome comment, the appreciation and for stopping in. Always look forward to your comments and the very cool links that you send! Keep 'em coming.

Hey Scott ,I'm on the lookout for one of these for you to display all those hats that you have. He! He!
    38. jscott0363 jscott0363, 8 years ago
      Drill,
That is too cool!!! Actually, I've had a couple of nice offers on my entire trunk, hat and hat case collection and I'm considering taking one of the dealers up on their offer. I'll probably keep the French trunks though. Thanks friend!!!
    39. Drill Drill, 8 years ago
Good for you pal, I would be hard pressed to part with some of what you have acquired. When I first saw that patent" I said what in the world!"But I guess they had to display them somehow. I have bookmarked almost 1200 trunk patents so far but every now and then I come across a really cool strange one.
