I believe this photo would have been taken around late 20's . It is my Great Uncle and Great Great Grand father on our family homestead . I do not know what year or type of bike this is but if you know please chime in :-)

Update Phil was so kind and cleaned up photo and it looks much better now . Thank you Phil !
Thanks Nicefice I thought it was a early Harley . Wish it was still on the farm to go pick it up :-)
Awesome...just a thought either German or-- E. R. Thomas Motor Company was a manufacturer of motorized bicycles, motorized tricycles, motorcycles, and automobiles in Buffalo, New York between 1900 and 1919. Good Luck!
Thank you Vin55 for stopping and trying to ID bike . I made photo larger and I do see a HD on chain guard now like Nicefice saw . Would think it was a Harley Davidson ?
Its a beauty, loved working on your photo, I bet this guy was so proud to own it. It looks like such a great bike, very early too !!
I kind of thought it might date back further than 20's also.
Wonderful family photo Mani and so kind of Phil to clean it up for you. It looks so very clear now, compared to the original.
Nicefice I think you nailed it 1914 HD it is . Thanks for the link . I maybe off by date of photo but he may have had it a few years before photo too . It looks like he was out driving it in the fields . If photo's could talk .
Thank you jscott0363 for stopping and yes Phil has some kind of magic he can work on photo's :-)
this is sweet old girl....Phil did a nice job as well...have to move some snow 2 ft or more coming in now and ending tomorrow, looking for a warm island for sale about now ...... '-))
Wow, Mani! Great photo, motocycle, and family memories!
Phil's magic is amazing, the pic is now as neat as when it was taken :-)
Good morning Roy oh roy :-) you could buy a island they have them for sale but you would miss your mountain . No snow here at the moment and I am ready for summer , Have fun plowing snow today xo
Last night I watched the Pamona Winter National drag racing. There were Harleys that topped 200 mph in a quarter mile. They have sure come a long way. Not your Great Grandfather's Harley any more.
'-)) you know me so well ...we're just having fun, hope things are well with you ..xx
Thegatekeeper No I doubt his bike would do 200 !! It was more like a dirt bike as all the roads in the small town were dirt . I love in Harley City and people here would not ride any other kind of bike :-)
Oh Roy O Roy we need a breath of fun :-) It is actually trying to get to 50 here today ! Keep on smiling and shoveling <wink>
look for me here on tv ....lol I'll give you a hint I have a hat on ...smiling

Nice to have a photo that shows so much family history, Great house, Sweet bike and memories what more can ya ask for, except maybe great great grandpas pocket watch ;p ( well looks like it could be a pocket watch anyhow)
Thanks PoliticalPinbacks and yes that would be his pocket watch . Gee now I wonder who had it as he had 12 kids to divide it between . They are turned out hard working and honorable kids . Times have sure changed . Nice to have to stop by I sure don't post enough anymore I better get with it lol
My Grand parents on moms side had 11 kids, They were a different breed back then for sure, none of them sat inside playing video games LOL, I met grandpa but don't remember much as he passed when I was very young, Grandma was born July 4th 1897 she made it to age 98 so I knew her anyhow, she had a cigar and a shot every year on her birthday ;D, Never met either on my dad side his mom passed when he was 4 in 1917 and his dad 7 years before I was born.
Keep the posts coming they keep us young, well you anyhow ;p
Yes it sure was a different time back then and so many kids grew up on a farm and we learned hard work made us feel better about ourselves and a accomplishment at end of day and it wasn't because we finally won at a video game . I met my Great Grandpa just once I was 4 yrs old when he passed , but my grandpa taught me how to milk a cow and clean a barn spic and span :-) I love your Grandma a cigar and shot a year must have kept her young !
Cleaning a barn can be a good workout,
I know some who picked so many strawberry's they won't touch one today ;p
Grandma had a dream at age 95 that she had another baby so one of my Aunt's bought her a doll for Christmas that year, She about peed her pants laughing, yeah she was young at heart.
What a great memory PP :-) I used to pick strawberries and still eat them everyday :-) love them still .
Thank you MacDaddyRico I appreciate you stopping and giving a love :-)
