One more old steel sign maybe from the 1950's, which I got in the early 1980's from the then Simpson-Powelson Lumber Co. in Galesburg, IL. Measures about 18"x30" with folded/rolled edges, but no actual mfr's mark anywhere on it.
Another cool score from work :)
THANKS SO MUCH (albeit mostly belatedly) to SpiritBear, fortapache, EJW-54, vetraio50, iggy, officialfuel, ttomtucker, clockerman, Karenoke, Trey, & Brunswick for your <love it>s and comments!!! :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
Gotta love little dude in his hat and either overalls or suit, depending on which corner of the sign he's drawn on... <lol> The sign does have some very slight surface rust, but nothing nearly severe enough to keep it from being tacked up to my kitchen wall where it is shown here, its general yellow color also compliments the rest of my little kitchen... ;-) :-)
/me <smiling> @ Rob -- no I don't think I wanna part with it (there's a whole buncha other personally related to that place I got it from stuff going on with it too) but that doesn't necessarily mean I wouldn't be interested in a 'companion' to it one of these days, ifn's you do end up with one or two more extras of yours sometime...?? But now we're bordering on the 'we're not supposed to do that in public here' rules...I'll stop with that now for the moment... ;-) :-)
Do yours have any markings showing who might have made them or when? Mine doesn't, I remember untacking it (but not picturing) its backside to confirm that when I first showed it here.
