Picked this up on garage sale weekend came with all the accessories and paperwork. It is a Brother sewing machine, possibly the Model 260. It is called the Super Streamliner according to the instruction manual, the Model 260 is also in the instruction manual but it is not certain that is the same machine. Also on the instruction manual is the date "May 4th 1957" written in pen. For Brother sewing machines one needs to email the serial number with model number to the company. I can skip that for now as I already have the date. Serial # would be a bit more precise.
This machine had all the bells and whistles and then some. There is a light built into the machine that will be seen in a part two for this machine. Also the bobbin seems to be internal, the spool of thread goes on the bottom right and then threads into the machine. It works as does the built-in light.
The sewing machine was made in Japan but the motor was made in the USA as was the foot pedal.
Lovely blue, and the accessories are neat.
I like the blue color too... Like the "Brother" emblem.
Thank you very much racer4four. I do like that color.
Thank you very much freon. That is a good emblem design I agree.

Thank you Rick55.
Oh wow! I love the details you’ve gotten with the paperwork! I’ve got the same sewing machine in my basement right now! When having a yard/estate sale for my grandmothers belongings, I couldn’t seem to let that go, it was such a pretty surprise to pull the top off and see that pretty blue underneath! I haven’t since investigated all the goodies with it or if it functions but didn’t know what to sell something like that for if I did let go of it, so it’s sat on a safely on a shelf ;)
Thank you very much Pippy. I don't think thing are hugely valuable but they are very cool. Mid century modern masterpieces.
The extra small singers are quite valuable in case you run into one.
I see you have a machine just like mine. I don't have an owners manual & can't find one either. Is there any way you can tell me if there's a special sequence to lowering the feed dogs? I can't turn the knob. I oiled EVERYTHING. Was thinking maybe it's something I'm doing wrong or maybe the knobs just broken
Talk about "it never rains but it pours." >8-0
In case fortapache doesn't see this soon, I found a downloadable Brother Super Streamliner Deluxe manual (caveat: it's not free):
