I got this Unique sewing machine at a resale shop. There was no moving parts on it and I did not know if the machine was going to work or if it had all of the parts. After oiling and cleaning for two weeks the parts began to move very slow but most of the parts were there, it was only missing the belt and I was able to find one. This sewing machine did not have any number on it to adjust the timing so it was very difficult. After putting the belt on and oiling and cleaning for three week I got it to sew like a charm. This old sewing machine works better than all of my later models and have fewer problems. The model number is 2347358.
You may have an 1871-72 Manhattan Sewing machine. Id like to seeca picture of the back and a close up of the fpot. There were only 2000 made ever in 1871-72 and then the company dissapeared. There are only 2 known by Berzack the collector and a nice one on pinterest. They all seem to be slightly different and modern for their time. The cabinets are all lovely and unique as well.
Your Unique sewing machine is made by Davis.
I just picked one of these up and am having no luck with confirming who made it. It appears to be a model H. Serial number 844970. The H designation is found on top and on the underside cast into the base of the machine.
I have found sites listing what appears to be all Davis models including the ones second labeled for Sears and no mention of a Unique labeled machine is ever mentioned.
Manhattan's seem to be labeled as Manhatans in all the info I have found to date.
Does anyone have more info I could find on this machine. Mine is nearly identical to the one in the picture. It has no carving in the center of the center drawer.
I recently picked up a Unique sewing machine, model H, serial number 838124. I would like to know more about it if anyone cares to share.

I just got a unique treadle sewing machine still on the wooden base with original cast iron treadle. The circle part has a wooden bar attached to it.

You haven't provided pictures of your machine here (you can't do that without creating a post of your own), so it's difficult to tell exactly what you have.
If it's a sewing machine head with the name "Unique" stenciled on the horizontal arm, it might well be some model of a Davis, but it could also be an A. G. Mason, because the badge name "Unique" was used by both companies:

I have one of these "Unique" machines, I have no idea what it is worth, I tore apart the base as it was in poor condition and am selling the drawers etc separate. I still have the sewing machine and want to sell if any of you are needing it, I believe mine is in working order. Again at this point it is just the machine itself.

Perhaps I should be more clear about what a badged sewing machine is. Here are several different websites that explain sewing machine badge names:

Retailers could and frequently did move on to a different manufacturer after a contract expired, and would put the same badge name on a completely different make and model of sewing machine.
In order to determine what make and model of sewing machine you have, you'd need to supply pictures.

Your best bet is to take some good pictures of your machine and post them somewhere that selling is permitted like eBay, Etsy, Craigslist, etc.
