It gives us great pleasure to announce that Collectors Weekly has been acquired by Barnebys.com! We are very excited to be a part of this smart, stylish, and fast-growing company, whose founders and staff love collecting and collectors as much as we do.
In the coming days, weeks, and months, we’ll be making a number of changes—some big, some small—to Collectors Weekly. Many of these improvements have been on our to-do lists, and perhaps yours, for years. Barnebys is committed to helping us get there, but we will still need you to let us know what you think of our efforts—your feedback always makes our work better.

The new look uploader is a great start!
Interesting outcome, change was in the air for the last few months. A totally different environment Ebay auctions vs Barnaby's auctions, amateurs to professionals, with their own established personalities, blogs, and essays. Looks like a good fit for CW. Curious about the big changes and the small ones. Sure the massive number of collector images from CW, will be welcome. Perhaps another internet collectible identification service is in the works. Intriguing!
Thank you CW friends for all the kind words of support. This has been a great way to finish 2017. Looking forward to doing some cool stuff with you in 2018!

Yes, we have Show & Tell, which has always tried to be a commerce-free zone, and then we have our auction pages, where people can browse the latest live auctions at eBay. In our minds, it's always been ok for both things to coexist.

I agree with you gargoylecollector! Geez! cut the team some slack PDM!
I liked it when there were a bunch of independent competing sites for collecting and sharing information-- all run by different, unrelated people. If money were the issue that lead to this acquisition, I think an ad or two on the side-column would have been sufficient. Internet monopolies slow down advancement and destroy competition and uniqueness. When the bottle forum I'm on was acquired by another company, everyone hated it and many left because of the changes. Consider that when you go to modify this site. Don't fix what isn't broken. If it worked well, it need not be changed. People generally hate change.

SpiritBear—We definitely agree that people hate change, but this acquisition should offer us the chance to finally address many long-running concerns that we haven't been able to fix in recent years. We will certainly keep the channels of communication open to get our regular users' feedback on what works and what doesn't, but we hope you will be open to changes that improve the site, even for your favorite parts like Show & Tell.

You had a microwave breakfast Hunter then :-) stay healthy and thank you for explaining about Car Mascots too . Your a doll ! I am not sure what Barnebys.com is but anxious to see what will be new , I know I will still be here as a oldie I guess 7 years now . Getting older by the minute too :-) xo
Thank you Ben, now that I am finished weeping I did see that you have added the Car Mascots and I really appreciate that detail. The other changes that I did note were all great improvements. I have enjoyed this forum for 6 years now, and still love it. Merry Christmas to you and your fellow staffers !~
