Hospital Security Badge St. Joseph’s Hospital, Milwaukee Wisconsin
To me as a collector nothing is more frustrating than a “maverick” badge, medal or token without the issuer’s city or state name. Case in point is this badge which I am fairly sure is from Milwaukee even though I will never be able to prove it. Also interesting is that this design type is almost always found as a hat badge except in this case. This one is a St. Joseph’s Hospital, Security Officer breast badge, nickel finish pin back 2 5/8 inches tall by 2 2/8 inches wide. This old badge would date from the late 1920’s- 30’s when my father was a cook there. The hospital staff was run by the nuns back then and from what he told me I don’t think those nuns would have needed much if any help from uniformed security.
Cool badge with the crossed night sticks. Nothing better says, we're gonna let ya have it if you mess around here.
Thanks Collectomaniac. In today's politically correct environment I like to think of them as attitude adjustment devices.
