Well, at GOODWILL (there's almost never anything good at Goodwill here) I found these two volumes for only a few dollars each and just had to have them for the Victorian chromo-lithographs, some exhibiting further aesthetic improvements made by hand. One book shows it's been professionally rebound, so whomever had these in the recent past cherished them. Both are in very good shape beyond your typical spotting due to the quality of the paper, but the Goodwill people slapped the stickers right on the finished leather spines. So I spent a few minutes carefully removing those with moisture. I then cleaned and nourished the leather so as to preserve them for the future.
The newest date in my pair is 1859. They're full of a few dozen chromo-lithographs and hundreds of engravings. The original work (Goldsmith's Animated Nature) was published in the 1700s but was re-published dozens of times into the later 1800s.

In plate 1, look in the background-- particularly at the boat falling from the air. Victorian humor. :)

Huh. I have it clicked to send me messages about comments. But I've gotten no email updates. Sorry, all.
Thank you, Ms. Crystal Ship. The opening plate is my favourite-- the fantasm one.

Summer Blues, ironically, they forgot to set the type for the full name in volume one. Says Blackie and ____. LOL. Volume two says Blackie and Son of Glasgow.
