In March, I was able to visit my oldest daughter in Germany and of course my priority excursion was Passau.
Luckily she only lives about 1.5 hours from the city. I was surprised at the lack of visitors in the museum-- we had free run of the place for about 2 hours. I could have stayed longer....
First photo shows the small Welz display, but I did find Welz decors in a few other areas in the museum.
My daughter's favorites were the Loetz figures.
Had to get a shot of the Harrach case with applied fruit and flowers. It was the applied pieces that first got me into glass collecting 25 years ago-- back when the prevailing thought was it was all made by Stevens and Williams.

So lucky to be able to see the Museum in Passau Scott, such beautiful Glass! :^D Thanks for showing! You're looking good too, but I'd have to say, that your Daughter out shines the Glass! :^)
Thanks much bill and thomas-- I appreciate your kind comments!

Great that you had the place to yourselves but I'm a little surprised at there being such little interest. I suppose the locals have all seen it already and it was before the high season for tourists.
I'd certainly love to see it.
Great pics.... So very cool you got to go visit Passau!!
I was worried when we first arrived-- the river near the museum had several large river cruise boats docked nearby, but apparently there wasn't an arrangement for any tour groups.

I was locked in onetime after hours for 4 hours and enjoyed all the exhibits! you sir have an admirable beard
Thank you Scott to share with us your visit to this fabulous museum, your daughter is lucky to be 1.5 hours from the museum.
I notice on your third picture a loetz Texas decor(second from the right bottom shelve)with similar brass work that a piece I own, kinda nice to see it.
Great post:-)

Great Pix !!!!
I'm a bit surprised by two on the bottom shelf in the Welz case (Centre and Right). I didn't know these are Welz.
The basket in the case to the left on the bottom is Welz. Those two bottom ones on the right are not Welz production. The case label reads:
"Down: In the centre black vase with layers of white opal, Vereinigte (United) Glashüttenwerke (Glassworks) Palme König & Habel, Großmann's Sohn (son), Steinschönau, aftger 1920."
I missed something in the quote, so here it is in full. A small detail, but missing none the less.
"Down: In the centre black vase with layers of white opal, Vereinigte (United) Glashüttenwerke (Glassworks) Palme König & Habel, lg. Großmann's Sohn (son), Steinschönau, aftger 1920."
Thanks for the clarification welzebub. I'm glad to hear I wasn't completely out of my depth. I couldn't reconcile those two with Welz production at all!
Thanks for clarifying welzebub.
