Mystery Silver Fork with English ? Hallmarks. From the top down I will try to describe them. Top cross in shield. Crown . Quartered shield. Gothic letter B. Gothic letter A. Letter B. Hope someone can tell us the meanings. Thanks.
I can't really make out the marks but Its most likely electroplated or sheffield plate. Sheffield plate was an early form of silver plating where the base metal was sandwiched between two thin sheets of silver, rather than the more modern electroplating. Might be English, could even be continental. Will guess at Victorian in date.
Thanks elanski

I can't read the marks on your fork, but the B is the same, and might be related! :^D Hope this helps, and thanks for posting! :^)
Thanks Bill, it does help.
Gothic EPBM stands for Electroplated Britannia Metal (Base metal).
Maker's mark far right impossible to decipher;most likely one of numerous Sheffield manufacturers.
Thanks Ivan!
