California Therapy Equipment Inc 500 Watt California Lamp Mid Century

This is my new downstairs lamp, another find from Bakersfield. I was thinking it was an industrial lamp but after reading the label it may have been a sun lamp of sorts. It says it is for a 500 watt lamp and it for therapy of some sort. As the label in photo #3 shows it is a California Lamp and with the desert artwork it is probably supposed to simulate sunlight. Plus it is made by the California Therapy Equipment Inc so probably for therapy. Perhaps one of those old school gym pieces like the steam box. Back in the long ago gyms involved a lot of equipment that required no effort but made people feel like they did something.
There are two addresses on the labels. I am thinking the first one was the showroom. That is 1150 S Alvarado St LA. Now it is Howards Cafe. The repair label is on Venice Blvd and is a cool brick building covered with ugly graffiti and that was probably the showroom.
It seems to have the original cord, it is cloth covered. Cloth covered cords look much nicer than the typical rubber covered cord and nice for when one has to look at the cord.
I probably will not put a 500 watt bulb in it as I do not need therapy.
