From the storage unit, this beautifully crafted antique bronze censer with removable lid. It has Cranes and Clouds nailed into it ( Not Welded see photo of the nails sticking through the inside of the piece ). On the feet are four lions or foo dogs, the bottom base has a dragon on the top of it, and the inside of the vase on the bottom is what looks like a nature scene! Stands at 18 1/2” tall and weighs about 20lbs. I don’t know if it’s Japanese or Chinese I’m just going by what the box it was in said. No symbols or markings on the piece, just intricate designs.

is it really bronze or spelter?
    2. krysciobrad krysciobrad, 4 years ago
@ho2cultcha , it’s bronze. The censer insert still has a gold shine to it. The weight of this piece is heavy, and it’s very durable... fell over while transporting it inside didn’t have a dent anywhere (thank god). If there a better test that you know of please let me know! I’m interested in the history of this item.

@dav2no1 , definitely! By far the best thing in there was a signed colored lithograph signed by Picasso! Going to have to get it appraised.
