Built during WWII!! Pulled it out of a basement at an estate sale. It was spray painted red, me and my father just finished the restoration.

Beautiful job. Good to see that there are still people that will restore things like this. Does it still run ?
Thank you, yes it still runs just fine although it does not get extremely cold. Its good for chilling drinks and things like that.
I had an old Frigidaire about this size that we put in a friend's shop. Visiting, he told me that a guy from Frigidaire came to look at it after hearing about it. He said the guy checked it over and said it was the oldest working Frigidaire they knew of that hadn't ever been serviced and they wanted it for advertising. Offered a new one for it. My friend told him it didn't belong to him and it kept drinks real cold, so turned down the offer. Probably still has it.
Very cool! Thank you for the story, just goes to prove that they dont make em like they used to.
I 1st thought my friend was stupid. Actually my 1st thought was probably right, until he explained that he didn't need a larger fridge that took up more space and they used the low fridge to put things on top of. To each his own ! He probably still has it, after all it "isn't his". LOL !
