As I live in the mountains where lumber was the reason a road was built to get up here I had to get this saw. This is where the lumber to build Los Angeles came from. There are still a few remnants of the old mills around here and several roads are named "Burnt Mill". Causes much GPS confusion and people driving down dirt roads that lead no where.
I see many of these but most are missing one handle. This one has one handle barley hanging on but it is there so all good. This one was also much less expensive than others I have seen. They are still made and new ones are over $200. Get a chain saw instead.
I left out saw pits. Saw pits would have one man in a pit when using these and there are a few saw pit roads up here.
The size on this is about 5 and half feet. I carried it around in my cart for about 3 hours at the Rose Bowl and that was quite a challenge. I I wrapped paper towels around where my hand was and tried to keep from injuring other shoppers. It was quite a challenge but I avoided injuring myself and others.

I have 6 or so hanging on the beams in the house. One I got from a loggers son who had it in the garage, it’s as sharp as the last time he put a file to the teeth of the saw , as he got older he would clean it he would put shoe wax on it to keep it from rusting ..he was one of many who lived in the logging camps and took pride in being a logger who rode down the rivers on logs keeping them from a log jam ....yup hard simple life ..later ..nice saws.... aint that a b$tch we can fix a typo in here ...smiling

I almost purchased one similar, one of the things I regret a little not taking a chance on. The farmhouse was way out in the country and without internet connection I was able to research and assess value. I don't remember how much they were asking but it was a nice piece. I do have a smaller blade without handles.

Thank you very much LazyBoy. I have a man and a half saw too. My trick is to copy and paste and hope someone deletes the first one.

Thank you very much crewnail. Generally they go for about $75.

I hear ya fort ...you need to hit those handles with some linseed oil ..probably take 5 coats minimum ..I had a few I did that to and saved them 8 coats later..... later ..
