This is our Roseetta in the LR. The wood frame as very old, almost rotten. My husband was trying to fix the wood with some kind of epoxy outdoor when suddenly, a gust of wind blew it downed broke some of the pieces. My stained glass repair guy repaired it and di an expert job on it, finding ld stained glass pieces. We also sent it to have the wood redone and had the wood gold leafed. I am nto a good photographer. This is high up on my all, ceiling si about 28 feet tall so, mayn't have a good picture but the cent is the painting of a crown with jewels around it.
Most definitely was first a church window, with the crown symbol as its center. Lovely!!!
It might very well be from. a church widow. There were 2 available, exactly the same but the center painting on the other Rosetta was a cross instead of a crown. The seller told us his best friend purchased the first one, left it with him for safekeeping. If I really prefer the crown, buy his friend a bottle of his favorite alcoholic drink and perhaps he would swap with us. It worked! That was in 1973. We used this design as part of our cobblestone court yard.
