This may be a hair trimmer, perhaps for a mustache for a traveling salesmen back in the day. That is what my husband thinks. I have not seen anything like this on ebay,or anywhere else. I am wondering if this is a hair trimmer and if anyone can add more information to it, like time period etc. Cleaning out attic and finding many of what I call "unidentifiable objects". Thank goodness for this site! Thank you.

Thank you for sharing. I went to the website and found the information. It is so interesting and I am so glad I posted this. I learned so much. It is a travel safety razor and was patented in 1921 by Christian E A Gronbech. Knowing the correct name for it, enables me to find more information. Thank you so much!!
