Went to the Carlisle, PA Fall Car Show yesterday (as I do every year). I look for items that interest me in the flea market. The exhibitors and flea marketers bring along items that I am often interested in as well as really cool auto parts.
I came upon this Goodell - Pratt hacksaw stand from 1899. It can cut a diameter to 2 3/4". It can swivel to 45 deg. You can lock the saw up and out of the way until you properly set the item to be cut (photo #4),.... and it is in the condition that it was in 1899, excellent. I had to have it.
After a little TLC to clean and lubricate it, the saw blade glides smoothly in it's framework to make an easy and accurate cut.
Will I use it? ....Probably not, This Historical beauty will rightfully have a spot on a shelf in my collection
I could sure use something like that every so often -- GREAT SCORE!!!

That's an amazing bit of engineering HAF, and old too. Well found.
