Well today is October 31, 2021 it’s Halloween day. I decided to take a drive to one of my favorite little towns and see if they had anything unusual today, as it turns out I found a Staats Money Changer used back in the 1890s that a bank teller would use. I brought it home and it’s sitting on my desk. As time goes by I will try and find more coins to go in it. I had one years ago and I gave it to my sister. I’ve always regretted giving that away and today I finally found another one. Great day for finding something unusual. Just think 131 years old and still working perfectly.

As of November 12, 2021 I’ve managed to find some silver dollars and half dollars at the pawn shop and antique store so I changed the photos. Love how it’s looking now just like back in the day.

      officialfuel, Cool. :-)

I am remiss in not providing a link for the patent until now:

So how does this actually work? (a pic of its back/underside would probably help me understand it)

AnythingObscure, Guess you don't wanna read all that pesky patent info, huh? };-)

Thanks keramikos, yup, just a little lazy today I guess (amongst work trips trying to juggle other people's thermostats) but I figured that's what it did, I was just unsure whether the coins on the top tray were interconnected with any of the mechanism, which they are not. (question answered!) :-) :-) :-) :-)

Nice looking little machine and looks very clean. When something like this comes around I am always a day late or a dollar shy.

AnythingObscure, It's almost like you have responsibilities, and can't surf the intertubes 24/7, huh? };-)
