Recently given by a friend, unusual piece that I would appreciate some information about please? Age, etc as I do not know anything at all about it. Would love to know more information. Made from a mesh/steel type material, would it be tribal?

That’s great thank you for the information, I just didn’t have any idea what it was. I’ll have a read through the link, thanks again.
Sj1252, Beautiful. :-)
While the so-called slave bracelet is still popular to this day, it has been around for a long time, and yours could well be vintage, considering that it appears to be made from brass.
Some history on the hath phool (flower of the hand):
*snip*
The hath phool’s origins can be attributed to the Mughals, who brought it to the country by way of Persia.
Not just Mughal queens, but also Mughal courtesans were the first to adopt and popularise the hath phool. It then travelled across the subcontinent, and won the patronage of Rajasthan’s Rajput community. Rajput royalty began to create their own versions, as did the nomads and gypsies of the region. “Hath phools were not restricted to just one community, but were worn by Hindu, Sikh and Muslim women alike, who each interpreted it in their own unique way,” Frederick explains.

s,,, i am on this for a few hours it does, not sense
apostata, I wish you would elaborate. It seems that something about this jewelry doesn't make sense to you.
Is it the vintage, or the history of this kind of adornment?

Thank you for your help. I literally don’t know anything about old pieces/jewellery etc. my friend sadly passed away and she collected unique pieces and it was her wish to pass them to me so I’m trying to research a few pieces to find out where they are from, age, when they were worn i.e special occasion etc so your help is appreciated.I’m new to all of this.
You might try looking for "chain maille" as part of your search terms, I believe that's what its construction method would be called. Chain maille (or chain mail) is also commonly found used on shirts, jackets, and head/face coverings associated with medieval styled garments.
it is not part of an bridal, because we are the elaboraty intermission part
it is also not a haath pool probably because it is an 5 finger link
the strange part is the closure of the bracelet
the ring part is rather sturdy , so i think it is an tribal piece , also probably rajasthan
i think this is vintage maybe 60-70 i am just guessing there are made everywhere but mostly Rajastan or Utar Pradesh
correction intermission part
apostata, OK, so probably tribal, possibly Rajasthan or Uttar Pradesh, and perhaps 60s/70s vintage.
Any opinion on the metal? It looks a bit yellowish, and I can see bits of greenish oxidation here and there.
Thank you to you all, it’s lovely to get a better understanding. I’m not sure if the material what it is made from?
actually i was in because you are in , because you do,t talk bs , so your guess is as good as my guess
IMO you did a very good job explaining haath pool to get an impression for sj 1252 onbly they are more delicate and got no medaillion and arsi
i think it is brass with low copper percentage, but you acid test it, this is no bronze
the other bracelet we have to assess on Banjara i think, it does make some sense
local silversmith got test sets for silver and you can buy silver test indicators, it will cost peanuts
Thank you everyone again, it’s a good website to capture peoples opinions and thoughts around pieces.
I’ll try and get some silver tests done to try and find out.
lol i got an whole research team on this and my muslim ummah
Ms.CrystalShip, Thanks, but I'm just an old Internet surfer with no particular discipline.
apostata, Thanks to you and your whole team for looking into this one. :-)
