    APEXantiques
    (36 items)

Seated but over 15 inches tall & with two impressed marks to her back (which as I understand relates to the revival of the style of an 18th Century Dehua master...or not) a square seal mark & one in the form of a double gourd, this fairly hefty lady holds a Ruyi form lotus in her right hand, beads in her left and to the right of her a vessel of gourd form sits on an extension of the waves upon which the goddess is also enthroned

i can,t see the mark but most 0f the time the double gourd mark is dehua and the other mark is he chao zong yin

the pedestal is strange normally you got an lotus bed design , it looks like they stylised an kangxi wave design from 1680-1710, or some type of scroll design ,

i think this is not an revival piece anymore , hard to say feels like vintage

To my eye she looks very much like she was intended for (or intended to look like she was for) the Japanese market "Kanon"
It does feel like vintage, the heavy nature of the wave form throne as opposed to the delicate petals of a lotus throne or a Qilin.

you might have an point i can,t tell about the qilin , i never seen this combination this way, i can,t assess about Kanton because we have to see the mark first
imo When it is marked Chao zong yin ( which i can,t see , the mark is blurry ) it,s not exclusively for the Japanese market

What a beautifully detailed, nicely glazed piece! Can you explain to me what the round ball-looking item is on her lap or in front of her, please? Thanks for sharing, APEXantiques.
