This Tiffany Favrile vase needs the right light to really shine (as does a lot of art glass really). With good lighting it really comes to live, the bulbous base is a wonderful lightly ribbed/stripped milky white opalescent glass with an iridescent finish. Very similar to Carder's Oriental Jade and Oriental Poppy glass he did at Steuben. The top half is the star of the show, it appears to have a light gold'ish iridescent finish, with a wonderful iridescent spiral design starting from the rim stopping at the top of the bulbous base. It's further decorated with hearts going around the entire parameter of the vase. Interestingly these hearts are different then the typical solid form hearts (actually factory titled leafs on many designs), these are hand "drawn" with individual lines forming the hearts, using an application of the same medium used to make the gold iridescent spiral design. The interior has an iridescent gold Favrile finish.
It's an Experimental piece as noted on the "X" signature on the base.
Great example, Brian.
