Yes these were real and I think from the 1960s. Not sure how long ago but I recall getting candy cigarettes back when I was quite small. They weren't the best tasting but they were a bit of naughty fun. I don't think these mase the puffs of smoke just a red end as if it were lit.
The box is pretty realistic. I thought it is an actual vintage cigarette box at first. It is a bit small, about a bit over 2"x3". Looks about the size of Camel unfiltered. It even has a tax stamp.
If I recall correctly I ate them filter first.
Ha ha ...I remember them as a kid...trying to blow the fake smoke out. And yes, they were nasty tasting. Same with the jerky chew cans..lol. We rocked cinnamon dipped tooth picks!
That's pretty cool!! My Aunt and Uncle owned a country store and, up until about 15 years ago, they still sold candy cigarettes along with other hard to find candies.
I sure remember candy cigarettes. It's a wonder all of us didn't end up nicotine fiends. };-)
Thank you very much Dave. Don't recall the smoke as I ate them from the filter.
Thank you very much Scott. I think they still sell them.
Thank you very much keramikos. We are lucky to be alive.
Oh they puffed “smoke”. Terrible tasting.
Sweet but nasty.
Fun memory
Thanks
This is a really cool find.
They tasted like chalk, and I recall the “smoke” reminding me of a teacher beating the chalk from the chalkboard eraser.
