The detail in this wonderful Baccarat vase is just mind blowing.
The ormolu has been attributed to .. ‘Escalier de Cristal’... the detail is astonishing right down to the minute detail on the base-foot.
I can’t quite work out if circling the top flat part of the rim, if they are bumble bees, butterflies or flowers.
I have never seen, on another vase the same attention taken to the inside of the a rim…it is so very beautiful.
Standing 12.1/2 inches x 6 inches in diameter at the widest point and weighing over a whopping!… 5 lbs…it’s!..a big vase.

The Baccarat vase I etched for Queen Beatrice of The Netherlands for the Isle of St. Eustatius wasn't close to this magnificent. Of course, Statia was a small poor island.

Inky, I don't think I ever took any pix. They would have been blown way in 3 Cat 5's we've had since. It made a local paper and the committee was real happy with it. Enjoyed talking with her and her Nazi husband. She probably tossed it in her cellar ! LOL ! Imagine how much shit she gets when she visits the "colonials". LOL Remember, this was pre-digital.

well you scored is an understatment haha , excellent assessment , because all the empire style and louis 16 and belle epoque style, this is typical napleon 3 + a bit latency emmision ( 1870-1880)
personnaly i think the dating is spot i haven,t seen this releases from the panniers brothers ( from 1885 on )
is this Escalier de Crystal, well the discussion was endless, IMO because if people can't see that this is top quality then they need a blind guide dog
what is the value, very high , it will make the cut at any major auction house
