The Anchor Hocking depression glass canisters, you'll find come in many sizes, inwhich reflect what food types to be stored inside them. This is a Cookie jar canister and it is X-Large in size. There are also canisters for Coffee, Flour & Sugar for example.
This originally would've had a label reading 'Cookies', located where a small rectangular area lay bare.
