This porcelain teapot is 5.25" long x 5.25" high x 3" wide. It is marked "MADE IN CHINA" and signed in Chinese characters on the bottom. There is a molded strainer on the inside of the pot going into the spout, so no doubt that it is a teapot. Sometimes described as a pitcher by sellers on online auction sites. There is a vent hole in the back of the cat's neck.

Very common and range of asking prices varies from very cheap to tens of dollars, described as modern and vintage, etc.

Well made little teapot but not something I would ever buy as I have a bias against using anything made in China for eating, drinking or cooking from. I bought a nice little porcelain Japanese teapot on an online auction site and the seller quickly realized they had sent me the wrong pot and told me to keep this one and sent me the right one.

No idea if the Chinese characters name the maker or say something else.

The director of this shoot was Amanda. She is a ham.

Is that a real puss in the action in photo one or have you been clever with photoshop?

She is real. She jumped on the table while I was taking pictures of the tea pot and I got lucky with that picture.

You can see some of her whiskers in the upper left corner of image 3. I got a couple more good images of her with the pot. She was fascinated with it.

Is that your real kitty meeting her? That's so sweet! Both are very cute kitties :)

Thanks for your comments LaurenRedmond! Yes, that is Amanda. She is my $1000 kittie, as that is how much emergency surgery cost an hour drive from home in the middle of the night took to save her. It was a bargain.

Updated images. Added a better image of the mark on the bottom. Amanda was also not satisfied with her limited presence in the images based on her contract which guarantees exposure in at least 50% of scenes/images. (Prima-donna)

Amanda needs a new agent so she can get some extra clawses in on photo size and how much of her appears in any shot, the porcelain cat is too prominent! :)

Thanks, apostata! It was a freebie, so no complaints.
