    Hello everyone!!
Another of my cast iron rabbits that's been sitting in my shop for a while and I finally got around to painting this fellow as well. I love the pose of this rabbit and all of the fine details such as his pipe. He came to me from Belgium and is a finely cast piece by whoever the foundry may be. I’ve had a bottle of plum colored paint in my shop for a couple years and have been waiting for the perfect opportunity to use it. So, I thought the plum color suited this fellow very well. I gave him a couple coats of transparent wax after painting and a bit of boiled linseed oil on his eyes to make them look more realistic. He's only 9" tall, 5 1/2" wide and weighs nearly 6lbs! I do love my cast iron pieces, especially my rabbits and dogs, and this one fits right in with the rest of my rabbit collection.

Thanks very much for stopping to see my cast iron sitting rabbit!!!
    Scott

Nice paint job! Those colors are great..makes him look so daper..his jacket looks like leather with the texture.

Now that's one scholarly rabbit, sitting there with his pipe thinking intently - a very professorial pose methinks :) Also quite beautiful & refined

      Dave,
Thanks very much!! To be cast iron, he was cast very well and every detail stands out. His jacket does indeed appear to be leather.

I can just imagine a ring of young bunnies in front of him listing to his story..
    17. jscott0363 jscott0363, 2 years ago
And he would have a lot of wonderful tales to tell the little bunnies Penny:) I too have always thought he looked like a storyteller, or as Jenni said, like a little professor:)
