1940s G.E. Telechron "The Dinette" Wall Clock
Maker: General Electric
Style: Telechron
Model #: 2H24
Name: The Dinette
Years Made: Post War 1945 - 1949
Colors: Red, Ivory, Blue & White
For as long as I can remember and probably before I was born, this clock sat on the wall of Dad's basement workshop. It still works. I'm not sure if dad's been inside and fixed anything over the years, I did not open it up.
This particular clock face is designed to slant downward to make it easier to read.
During this era after the war.."More focus was placed on kitchen clocks, previously only a sideline. These years were a boon to the housewife, offering her a wide array of affordable labor-saving devices. Dependable electric time was just one more."
