Merry Christmas To All My CW Friends!
Hope everyone is healthy and happy for the holidays. I look forward to your upcoming mysteries and treasures!
My backyard backs up to the neighbor's pasture. Mr. Watson the horse is looking for carrots and his missing sock. Thelma and Louise the goats are already head butting each other waiting for carrots.
My Belgian Malinois Shepherds, Sansa and Ueli are waiting for frisbee. Sun, rain, snow or ice..it doesn't matter. Anytime is frisbee time!
We had some unusually cold temps this last week 7 plus degrees below freezing. That rain, snow freeze cycle caused some serious ice forming. The pond is still pumping and created some spectacular ice sickles.
And the ceramic coat on my truck is holding up strong under that ice sheet. Once it melts it will look like new again.
Merry Christmas, dav2no1. :-)
Love all of those animal babies. <3
So, on the ceramic coat, I'm a bit confused. I see "Z71" peeking through the ice:

Is this your Silverado LTZ resurrected, or something else?:

Kera..yes in that post I mentioned my 2012 Silverado LTZ got totaled. And you see my 2 classic trucks live in the garage. That's why my replacement truck..2015 Silverado LTZ sits outside.
Ceramic coat refers to the paint protection I had applied. I had the paint correction and Ceramic coat professionally applied by the dealer. Then as soon as I got it home applied a second layer myself. This coating lasts a few years then needs to be stripped and reapplied. The ceramic bonds with the paint surface and makes it super-hydrophobic. (I know you like fany words!) Black is a difficult color to keep clean and since it lives outside in the elements ceramic coat is a good choice
Kera ..I see why you were confused. I wrote this post early in the morning. I edited it to make it easier to understand
dav2no1, I'm pretty easily confused when it comes to automobile makes and models. };-)
OK, so this is a replacement for the totaled truck. I had wondered whether you'd managed to salvage the totaled one, because there's totaled, and then there's 'totaled.'
Nope totaled..6 air bags deployed...that's $1K/each plus frame got bent. They still wanted over $10K to buy it back with all the damage and would have salvaged title after wreck. The leather interior package and motor was probably worth that, but too much work
dav2no1, So it was salvageable if you totally loved it, and money, time and sweat weren't objects. I get it: it's not like it was some incredibly rare vehicle. };-)
Replacing six air bags that got deployed is expensive, but even I know that a bent frame is No Good.
Kera ..see your email. I sent you some crash pictures.
Season’s Greetings DAV2 !!!!!
Merry Christmas Dave!!! It's a bit nippy here in central Kentucky. Yesterday was -8* with -28* wind chill. It was warm today with 7* and 3* wind chill. We buried my wife's dear mother just hours before the cold blast hit us.
Sorry to hear about your loss Scott! This will be xmas two without mom.
Thank you Dave!!
Thank you V50 and Searching1.
Merry Christmas Dave and love all the photos esp of the animals, your dogs are gorgeous
great having your neighbor owning the animals. You can enjoy them with treats and petting, and you don't have to shovel after them. Your neighbor takes care of that. HAPPY HOLIDAYS
Merry Christmas Newfld!
Hotairfan..That is true..I have enough to shovel with my two big mutts. Those goats..they got stinky feet!
Another advantage is...if I'm out playing frisbee with the dogs and I see Mr. Watson rushing to his barn..you can guarantee it's gonna start pouring! He's quite the accurate weather man!
Now that Christmas is over, a little mood music for Mr. Watson (starting at around 13:30, "I Dig A Pony"):
The Beatles - Rooftop Concert

30 January 1969 in London was a cold day, and a bitter wind was blowing on the rooftop by midday. To cope with the weather, John Lennon borrowed Yoko Ono’s fur coat, and Ringo Starr wore his wife Maureen Starkey’s red mac.

I suspect that Ringo was luckier wardrobe-wise, because he seems to have been wearing a turtleneck sweater underneath the buttoned up coat. So he had the sweater for insulation, and the rain slicker style material of the macintosh to keep the wind from penetrating.
Starr probably could have used a hat and a pair of bicycling gloves, but he was much better dressed for the elements than McCartney. All McCartney had to keep him warm was that big beard.
Hmmm, maybe not a turtleneck:

However, that rain slicker probably did the trick on keeping the wind out.
Looking more closely at various images of the day, the black garment peeking out above the red slicker Starr was wearing is definitely not a turtleneck sweater, but rather an ordinary collared shirt -- buttoned all the way up. };-)
Apparently, it was 45 degrees Fahrenheit that day, and a stiff breeze was blowing. Lennon complained that his fingers were too cold to play the chords:

Whoops, sorry for the duplicate comment. The InterTubes are not playing nicely today.
I deleted the extra..I had the same issues as did others.
dav2no1, Thanks. :-)
Yeah, I suspect that it might have been CW rather than the InterTubes overall that was having the problem.
Hi Dave!
Eileen here!
Seeing your neighbor horse brought back memories of a neighbors mule and goats I used to feed apples to. ( truck bed fulls) They had a lot of animals!
Your dogs!!! Those are mighty expensive canines there and very loyal. I wouldn't come around late at night snooping, not with those beauties to protect you Ha!
Do you watch the John Wick movies? I love Keanu Reeves movies so I have seen ( own) them all and waiting for #4! In # 3 there are two Belgian Malinois Shepards and they are fantastic! The scenes they are in with their owner (Halle Barry) are superbly done. Anyhoo, Love all your animal pictures!
Eileen - Thanks for the comments. Glad my post brought back some wonderful memories. I got rid if all my John Wick movies..and bought them in 4K UHD! Big fan as well!
Sansa, my female is a purebred rare "blue malinois" (even though she's brown). They were both adopted through The Woof Project. She was found wandering the streets of LA, her back half hair was missing from bugs and stress..she weighed almost 42 lbs.(now 2 years later-78 lbs). The male ueli came from Utah area. He now weighs 102.5 lbs..still thinks he's a big puppy. He has long lanky legs like a horse, very fast. You can see in the pictures that a 5 ft fence was no challenge for them. Extending the fence yo 8 ft cost almost $5K! Yes, they are expensive.
